Macleay Country Acres outside Salem, Oregon
Restrictions regarding home size and style are a bit more relaxed in the Macleay country acres. Manufactured homes are not allowed in the subdivision itself, but there is a mix of stick built and manufactured just outside the actual subdivision along with a mix of older and newer homes. There are many parcels of land in the Macleay area, with a vast range of prices. One nice advantage in the region is a that the land is almost completely flat. Much of the area is located in a Sensitive Ground Water Overlay Zone, and in order to conserve water it is agreed that watering lawns between July and Spetember is to be done during 8pm to 8am. Millers Brothers is a private trail system about 5 miles away, you can haul in and ride for $3 per horse/rider combo. Average sales prices range greatly because of the varying age/size and styles in this area from the low $200,000's to $800,000 or more. In the Macleay Country Acres specifically, the new or newer homes on 1-2 acres will run around the mid $500,000's without a barn.
