Turner is a small town just a couple miles Southeast of Salem. You can barely tell you have left Salem, just a couple miles of rural land separate the two. With population of about 2,000, most people commute to Salem for employment. There is a pallet plant, retirement home, post office, flooring shop, gravel pit, a mill, a gas station and a wrecking yard to offer a few jobs. And what town is complete without a drive-thru coffee cart? Two small mini-marts for the last minute items, but major grocery shopping is best in Salem. Mill Creek and the train both run through town. Turner has seen a lot of improvement and growth over the last decade, including several new subdivisions.
If you are looking for horse boarding facilities in the area, Vineyard Stables, Delaney Acres and Two Pennies Ranch are in the area. Turner has a great selection of close-in acreage if you want to have your horses live at home with you, yet still be close to Salem or I5.
